Brian McMahon, a student at City University of New York’s Baruch College, recently videotaped our Nancercize class. I think he managed to capture the essence of Nancercize in his interviews, footage, and commentary. He called me “charismatic”!
See if you agree.

What’s a Nancercize class like? A month or two ago, two charming young ladies from the Columbia University School of Journalism came knocking on our “door.” The video that grew out of that search is now viewable on the Uptowner website. In 1 minute and 40 seconds they pretty well captured the essence of Nancercize. Have a look and see for yourself.

Whether you’re a regular Nancercizer or not, I’ll bet you can use a little break now and then. Go on, get up out of your chair and do this 10-minute series of gentle movements designed to get your blood moving to re-energize your mind and body. Feels great before or after a work out — or at any time!

Frankenstorm Sandy gave east coast Nancercizers a chance to “exercise” our resilience to life’s surprises and find ways to move our bodies outside the park. All of this is totally in keeping with the philosophy of Nancercize—get outdoors and use whatever you find out there! Here’s how to use curbs, scaffolding, street wall, and steps as your exercise equipment so you don’t lose your momentum.

If you want to laugh and feel cool at the same time after exercising, nothing works better than an outdoor spray shower. Lucky for us, park and playground designers are including water elements and shower sprays more often in new designs and in re-designs. Go on, reward yourself after a steamy workout and be a kid again!
