It’s the first sports day of its kind in the city, if not the country. This is just what we want to happen. Join the movement to make every day a “green gym day” by going outside to play. Some of us vacuum up even more… Kind of a disaster when you consider 2000 calories a day is all that most of us need. That’s a lot of turkey trotting to stay in balance and […]

Did you know that it is fathers who have the most influence over their son’s—and daughter’s–exercise attitude and habits? My father and I never got to the point of playing ball together, or anything like that. But I’ll always be grateful for his role in making me comfortable and adept at three activities I love still.

The official Green Gym Day is just around the corner–the second Sunday of June. It’s easy enough to come up with ideas about what to do for any one day, whether you’re an adult or a child. Have you ever noticed how, every once in awhile, two or three things happen in a row that add up to make you go “Aha!”? Here’s how to be part of a little miracle.

Join us on June 9th, Green Gym Day, the first worldwide day of play for everyone. Green Gym Day is the day you’ve been waiting for–an excuse to get outdoors and play. Once you experience how good it feels to be active outdoors, you might make everyday Green Gym Day. My partners and I are using social media to promote the day and get more people outdoors, for the sheer pleasure of it. We’re inviting everyone to share their activities on the day with everyone else who takes part, via photos and video clips, which will be used to create a video montage of the day.

Could your holiday use a little perking up? A little moment where you feel the original spirit of Joy, Love, and Peace? Where you feel close to your family—however you define it—and gratitude for all that you already have? This year, how about we take some time to spend a few minutes with self-proclaimed “bad dancer,” Matt Harding, who quit his job to travel (and dance with people) across the globe. A friend sent this to me today, and it made me feel soooo good. I wanted to pass it on to you.

We’re all lead busy lives these days. You don’t need to decide between taking care of yourself and spending time with your family. Find out about over a dozen ways to get outdoors and get moving together.

School is out for summer, and that means many of your local school playgrounds will be sitting unused for the next couple of months. That’s good news for you, because the school playground is a great place to work out. From the swings to the monkey bars, there are lots of ways you can use the standard equipment at the school playground to tone up. You can use monkey bars for chin ups or just practice climbing them back and forth to build upper body strength.
